DIY Bookshelves from a pallet

I found this idea on a blog that I read.  I also saw it on Pinterest and had to try it.  When your tight for money, *almost* free crafts and projects are the best!

First start with a pallet.  It has to be the kind pictured, or else it wont work.

The Pallet

Then make 2 cuts to get 3 pieces.  You’ll use the 2 end pieces.

Knock out middle support.

We were trilled with how they turned out.  We got the pallets for free at a local flower shop and a local playground realtor.  Just the cost of paint, screws and sanding blocks we were set!

Swimming Lessons at SBTS

Last week Abby started swimming lessons at Southern.  She had so much fun.  It was her first time realizing you can take lessons.  Now she wants to take dance lessons.  We told her one thing at a time.  🙂

Abby wasn't so sure about this but she tried floating and did great!

Gliding: Holding onto the wall, putting one hand out and pushing with her feet off the wall. So brave!

Unfortunately we just got told (week 2) that the heater in the pool went out and they are going to have to cancel until further notice.  So it might be a few weeks before we get to do lessons again.  In the mean time there is a community pool that Mike will take Abby to.

Welcome to the Kentucky National Guard Mr. Hallas

January 18, 2012 Mike officially because a member of the Kentucky National Guard.
